A Feast for the Eyes
The drive along Maligne Lake Road took us from spectacular canyons to beautiful lakes. Passing through amazing views one after another, it was a true feast for the eyes!

Beautiful little flowers by the lake
It was cloudy and drizzly all day. Although the sun didn't set until 11pm, with heavy clouds crowning over the mountains, it was already a bit dark around 6pm when we arrived at Maligne Lake. Without umbrellas, we picked up our pace and left before the downpour.

Where to stay when visiting Jasper National Park
Brian and I stayed in Hinton, a small town to the east of Jasper National Park. For a day trip driving from Hinton into Jasper National Park along Maligne Lake Road, we started our day around noon. If you can plan early, I'd suggest staying in the town of Jasper for your visit to this sprawling park. It can definitely save you time driving in and out of the park. However, staying outside of the park is usually cheaper and if you are booking last minute, there will be more places available.
