Winter to Spring Transitional Wardrobe Solution for NYC
I built a winter to spring transitional mini-capsule to help myself get dressed quickly for NYC's tricky early spring. I like staying on the warmer side for spring. You may know that the temperature in NYC's April/May can range from high 30F to high 80F, and I try to make this mini-capsule pretty AND practical. The question is: how do I uplift the whole outfit while staying warm enough for the lingering winter-like cold air?
For my 10-item mini-capsule, I have:
3 Tops
Long sleeves: Eileen Fisher - Striped Top
3/4 sleeves: Zara - White Overlay Top
Short sleeves: H&M - Cotton Tee Jungle Cheetah
3 Bottoms
Skinny pants: LOFT Petite - Ponte Legging
Loose pants: Levi's - Belted Denim Culottes
Wool Skirt: Ecoleco (Chinese eco-friendly brand)
1 Dress
Casual Dress: secondhand Zara from Buffalo Exchange
3 Outerwear/Layering
Wool Cardigan/Jacket: secondhand DVF from The RealReal
Lightweight Trench: secondhand from Crossroads Trading Co.
Midweight Coat: secondhand ZAC Zac Posen from The RealReal
Next week, I will start showing the outfits I put together from this mini-capsule on my IG @living.petite. I can actually make more than 10 outfits out of this capsule wardrobe but will show the best 10 along the way. I hope this post sparked some ideas to solve your winter to spring transitional dilemma.
